Overview
India is one of the world's fastest-growing hospitality markets, with domestic tourism topping 2.5 billion trips in 2024 and inbound arrivals recovering to 9.5 million (Ministry of Tourism, 2025). The country trains hotel managers through a mix of government-run Institutes of Hotel Management (IHM), private universities like Manipal's WGSHA, and international partnerships such as IIHM–Edinburgh Napier. Graduates feed the Taj, Oberoi, ITC, Marriott, and Hyatt pipelines both domestically and across the Gulf.
